These homes are a few recent examples of our work. Each one highlights a different competency we provide to our clients.
This home best demonstrates our design skills. After learning what this young family required and desired we set about the design process from the ground up. The relatively small, irregular shaped lot complicated the process a bit, but it's nothing we're not used to. Since we were invloved in the design from the beginning there were no surprises or on-site issues during the actual construction. Things went smoothly resulting in a very satisfied homeowner, and a home we are very proud to put our name on
This home is a great example of our flexibility in price ranges. It is located in a highly regarded area with a desirable school system. The house contains many features not found in similarly priced homes such as extensive maple flooring, cherry kitchen cabinets, a cultured stone fireplace, leaded glass entry door, premium fixtures, 9-foot ceilings, full basement (unfinished), central air, large rear deck, premium garage door, Andersen windows, exterior cultured stone, and much more. The majority of our homes are priced considerably higher, but this project demonstrates our ability to deliver the same commitment to quality in a lower price range. The home was built on spec. Including lot, it sold in the Fall of 2006 for $225,000 within one week of being on the market.
This home highlights our ability to adapt to adverse conditions and unforeseen problems in design. The soil on the property had a very high clay content which hindered percolation of surface water. This was combined with its low elevation in relation to nearby property causing a funneling effect of water onto the property. Having encountered this many times before, the problem was remedied with high performance waterproofing on the exterior foundation walls combined with an extensive drain tile system connected to a sump system. The results are a dry basement in an area that would otherwise be prone to regular flooding and peace of mind for the clients. This home, designed by an architect, contained an unusual stair arrangement. It was realized during construction that the stair system as designed would not work. Again, putting our years of real world experience to use we were able to reconfigure the stair system in a safe, attractive way that pleased everyone from homeowner to building inspector.
This home shows our ability to create real value for the customer. The client came to us after purchasing an unusual shaped, water front property that was perceived unable to accommodate a home. After a rigorous design process, combined with our knowledge in setback requirements and local building ordinances, we produced a design that pleased the homeowner and was complimentary to the lot. The creative design and our commitment to a solution produced increased property value and considerable value to the client.
